It’s double the fun! The City of Washougal and Washougal Eagles 4390 are teaming up to host the Washougal Community Easter Egg Hunt and EGGstravaganza, Saturday, April 20 from noon to 3:00 PM at Upper Hathaway Park.
“The past several years there have been two different and successful egg hunt events going on in Washougal,” said Rose Jewell, City of Washougal. “This year we have decided to combine forces and gather all of the fun into one place!”
The very popular Washougal Eagles #4390 Easter Egg Hunt will still be taking place the Saturday before Easter at 1:00 PM at Upper Hathaway Park across from Hathaway Elementary. More than 25,000 eggs will be up for grabs. There will be four age groups, 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12. All children will be given a bag of candy, and each egg will contain a chance for a prize or grand prize. Grand prizes include items such as bikes and toys. It all kicks off with the 0-2 age group starting at 1:00 PM. The Easter Bunny will be there starting at 11:00 AM.
“The Washougal Eagles #4390 are happy to host their 16th annual Community Easter Egg Hunt this year,” said event organizer, Gail Logan. “It is always a pleasure to see the community come out for this exciting event.”
The City’s EGGstravaganza will run from noon until 3:00 PM and is making the move from downtown Reflection Plaza to compliment the Eagle’s event. It will be located at the Upper East Hathaway Park. It will not include an egg hunt but will feature a festival atmosphere with fun activities and free food. According to Jewell, there will be lots of entertaining things to do for kids and families before and after they enjoy the Eagle’s egg hunt. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
“We are very excited for the two organizations to work together and produce an outstanding event for families in our community,” Jewell said.
Activities include a petting zoo, herb seed pods to be planted in paper cups that kids can color, costumed characters handing out goodies, carnival games, and more. Free food offerings, while supplies last, will include hot dogs, bananas, cotton candy, drip coffee, and water.
