If you are currently a teacher in Washington State or have a bachelor’s degree and wish to receive your teacher certification, now is the time to register for the 2019-2020 ESD-U cohort.
The ESD-U is a program of Education Service District 112 that has been approved by the Washington State Professional Educator Standards Board as a non-college/university entity providing teacher certifications in the state of Washington. Its goal is to address district teacher shortages and help districts to “grow their teachers” in a cost-effective way.
There are two options offered by the program. (1) – Teacher certifications for those with a bachelor’s degree. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or higher and reside in Washington State. (2) – Additional teacher endorsements for those who hold a Washington State teaching certificate and be currently employed as a teacher in a Washington school district or ESD. Applications for both are due by May 1, 2019. To apply, visit ESD 112 online.
