Spring is the best time of year to go wine tasting. White and Rose wines from the previous fall are ready for release, and the vineyards are at their greenest. Winemakers are eager to show off their fresh young wines ready for summer sipping.

Since all of the wineries in Clark County produce fewer than 1000 cases per year, winemakers are frequently pouring their own wines. Many of the tasting rooms are located onsite with mature and developing vineyards. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about grape growing and wine production on a small scale.

To celebrate this loveliest of seasons, Southwest Washington Winery Association is sponsoring a Memorial Day Weekend Spring Wine Release Wine Tasting Tour and optional “passport” event.

Pick up a free “passport” at participating wineries. Visit three or more wineries, collect a stamp at each, and leave the passport at the last winery, to be entered in a drawing for prizes (announced at the end of the weekend).

Come with friends or by yourself and make new ones – and fall in love with Southwest Washington Wine Country. For more information, visit Southwest Washington Wine Country online.
