Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
Young minds are great at learning new things, so why not start them out learning good habits. Start the kids off right with knowledge on ways to protect our earth through good habits like recycling. This was originally scheduled for February’s Second Saturday which was postponed due to weather, and will now be a part of the March Second Saturday event on Saturday, March 9th at the Water Resouce Center from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Kids will learn which items go in which recycling bin in a fun and informative way, with various learning stations, games, and a kid-friendly presentation. Your kids will leave with the knowledge of how to improve household habits.
Families can also discover new ways to reduce waste, use water wisely and treat our planet kindly. Explore energy and water conservation, learn how to prevent food waste and practice good composting habits.
A fun little bonus activity on this day will be a FREE Swap – each child can bring a gently used toy, book, or game to exchange with other kids.
Second Saturday’s at the Water Resource Education Center are not only fun, but they’re also FREE! Each Second Saturday of the month, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, kids, and their families are invited to explore a different topic through hands-on activities, games, and stories.
The Water Resource Education Center is located at 4600 SE Columbia Way.
