For 70 years, young women have been vying for the crown and a chance to be called Miss Clark County. The Miss Clark County pageant also serves as the preliminaries to Miss Washington Organization and then on to Miss America.

Miss Clark County is a scholarship program for young women. It also provides a place for women to showcase their abilities to become community leaders, role models, and experience personal growth.

The first Miss Clark County, Mary Elizabeth Tedford, was crowned in 1949. Today she is 89 years old, a retired teacher, and living in Reno NV with her husband. 1200 people attended that first pageant held at Fort Vancouver High School.

Over the years, four Miss Clark County’s went on to become Miss Washington and competed at the Miss America pageant. Many of the women have been very successful doctors, teachers, nurses, entrepreneurs, accountants, business owners and more.

The 2019 Miss Clark County/Miss Greater Vancouver/Miss Clark County’s Outstanding Teen Pageant is scheduled for Saturday, February 9th at Fort Vancouver High School (5700 East 18th Street). Doors open at 2:30 PM. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased HERE. Help them celebrate 70 years of making a difference in young women’s lives.
