Editor Note, per the FVNHS website: “During the federal government shutdown, Fort Vancouver NHS will remain open. However, there will be no visitor services, & hazardous conditions may exist.”
Take a stroll through the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site at night and see things in a different light – candle lantern light!”
Guests will carry their own candle lantern (10 years and older) and walk with a Park Ranger through the fort’s reconstructed Counting House, Fur Store, Cheif Factor’s House, Kitchen, and Bake House. In each building, guests will get to experience “historical vignettes with costumed living history interpreters.” Some of these interpreters will be Youth Volunteer Programs graduates. Learn what took place in the evening hours at the Fort. Following your tour, enjoy a hot cup of cider and reflect upon your tour.
