Fun Hair Clips by B & G Designs.
So, what do you get when you get two ten year old girl friends together for a day of fun? Would you have guessed a new business?
Grace Alexander and Bailey Linn are both Fourth Graders (and friends) at Felida Elementary School. They also both love to wear cute things in their hair, and one Saturday afternoon they both showed up together with a pretty flower in their hair and decided to try to make their own.
So after a trip to the local craft store for supplies, they started creating their hair clips. They were having so much fun, they made extra for friends. Then, the idea…”we could make these and sell them.” By the end of the weekend, they had created over 100 flowers, and B & G Designs was born!
They make flower hair clips in various sizes and colors, as well as headbands with interchangeable flowers. They have even made special flowers for some of our local High Schools (Columbia River, Skyview, and Hudson’s Bay). The flowers can also be used to clip on hats, clothing, shoes, gift packages…
B & G Designs will be at the upcoming Columbia River Arts in the Park, and have registered for the Salmon Creek Farmer’s Market. They have had “Open House” parties to sell their creations, and several local businesses have their work on display. Of course, the girls always carry a basket of flowers with them (and one in their hair).
Grace and Bailey also made some of their designs to donate to charity and brought a bunch of flower hair clips and head bands over to Doernbecher’s. Way to go, girls!
