Don’t Miss Some Amazing Themed Days at Ridgefield’s First Saturdays

Come enjoy music, fun, food and family-friendly activities downtown the first weekend of each month at Ridgefield First Saturdays.

Connect with the community as you stroll through the Farmer’s Market, browse gallery shows from local artists, shop amazing sidewalk sales, groove out at outdoor concerts, indulge in some local food and so much more!


The festivities kick off in Overlook Park at 8:00 am and last until 6:00 pm (or later…click link for each event for complete schedule) all around town.

May Day Spring Festival on May 6th
It’s the 2nd anniversary of First Saturday!! Help usher in a fresh new season complete with Maypole dance, photo contest, Farmer’s Market season grand opening, a scavenger hunt, the Annual Spring Art Fair featuring art, live music and local wine.

Big Paddle and More on June 3rd
Ridgefield is celebrating National Trails Day with festivities at the waterfront and downtown. There will be a lovely hay bale ride to shuttle back and forth. Enjoy follow-the-fish trail, canoe, kayak or paddleboard adventures, obstacle course for all ages, live music and a wine/beer garden.

Red, White & Blue Historical Fun on July 1st
Gain a new understanding of old Ridgefield on this day full of play and discovery. Red, white & blue costume contest, games, icy treats, a heritage scavenger hunt and so much more. A history lesson has never been so much fun!

Picnic in the Park on August 5th
Head downtown for food, friendship and fun. Pack or purchase a picnic lunch and cool down with water games, frozen dairy treats and a refreshing beer or glass of wine. Ridgefield Schools will also be hosting the Tour de Ridgefield bike ride fundraiser, that will begin and end at Overlook Park.

Heritage Day & Wild Wild West on September 2nd
Step back in time and trot on downtown to revel in western-themed fun with local lore, country music and dancing.

Birdfest & Blue Grass on October 7th
Keep your eyes peeled and ears alert for the sights and sounds of fall migration and bluegrass music throughout Ridgefield! The 2017 schedule of events is being planned currently so visit the website for the most up-to-date info.

Wine & Chocolate Festival on November 4th
For the 21-and over crowd check out the big tent at Overlook Park to sip delicious local wines paired with decadent chocolates or foods prepared with chocolate. For the younger set be sure to visit the Chickadee Art Festival sponsored by the Ridgefield Art Association at the Community Center.

Hometown Celebration

Hometown Celebration on December 2nd
Join your friends and neighbors at this community celebration! All day fun for the whole family and kids of all ages. Join in the “Ugly Sweater Run”, cookie decorating, holiday crafts, meet SANTA, visit a living nativity scene and round it off with the tree lighting ceremony.
