Diving Into Summer Fun as Marshall Pool Reopens

hey! sharing is caring :)

Vancouver Parks and Recreation will reopen the swimming pool at Marshall Community Center at 7:00 AM Monday, May 17, after a three-and-a-half-month closure to install a durable fiberglass coating.

Scheduled activities at the pool currently include swim lessons, lap swimming, water exercise classes, and leisure swims. The pool will be open to Marshall Community Center passholders and registered swim lesson participants under the current aquatic facility guidelines included in the Healthy Washington: Roadmap to Recovery plan. Single-day, drop-in use is not allowed during Phase 3 of the state reopening plan.

“Marshall Pool is a key resource for many people in the community and access to the pool has been greatly missed during the closure,” said Marshall Community Center Director Andy Meade. “The new coating looks fantastic and we look forward to reopening on May 17, just in time for summer recreation programs.”

Vancouver City Council unanimously approved the repair project on March 1, and work on the pool began April 5. In addition to addressing an ongoing maintenance issue that led Vancouver Parks and Recreation to close the pool on January 30, the fiberglass coating will reduce annual maintenance costs and closures at Marshall pool in the future.
