The one day a year I actually LIKE slow moving traffic! If you haven’t already, it’s time to mark your calendars for one of the biggest events of the summer…Cruisin’ the Gut, on Saturday, July 16, 2016!
While Cruisin’ the Gut used to be a weekly event waaaaay back when I was in High School (Go Chieftains ;-) ), this is the eighth year for the annual summertime Cruisin’ the Gut event in Downtown Vancouver USA and my guess (if the event is anything like previous years) is it will be even bigger and better than before!
For those of you who don’t know what Cruisin’ the Gut is: it’s a day to see some awesome cars, both old and new and everything in between; it’s a day to see your friends (yes, they will be there); it’s a day to enjoy our great downtown Vancouver; and it’s a day to share stories with those too young to remember what cruisin’ used to be!
There will be various activities taking place throughout the day in the downtown Vancouver area as local businesses gear up for the thousands who visit that day. Not only is this a fun community event, but has also turned into one of the largest food drives in Clark County. So, when you come on down, please bring a canned food donation and help drive out hunger in our community!
This is a free event for spectators and cruisers alike. There is no pre-registration or limitation on types of cars allowed; if it looks cool, or sounds cool, you’re in! The “official” start time is “Come early and stay late”, but the festivities will start at Main Street Dairy Queen around 10:00 am when the food donation barrels open; however, folks have been known to start showing up as early as 6:00 am to claim their favorite viewing spot.
