Magenta Theater presents the main stage production comedy Becky’s New Car, written by Steven Dietz and directed by Jaynie Roberts (Artistic Director of Magenta Theater). The cast of Becky’s New Car features the talents of Francine Raften, David Roberts, Shaye Eller, Robert Lawson, Sam Anderson, Jayme Motanic and Brian Myers, who hail from Brush Prairie to Beaverton and everywhere in between.

Francine Raften, a Portland radio host, standup comic and Internet TV host, is honored to bring the character of Becky to the Magenta stage. “Playing Becky is absolutely thrilling and one of those rare, special roles that actors dream of,” said Raften. “I can’t wait for audiences to go on the roller coaster ride with Becky!”

Synopsis:
Have you ever been tempted to flee your own life? Becky Foster is caught in middle age, middle management and in a middling marriage – with no prospects for change on the horizon.  Then one night a millionaire stumbles into her work.  Becky is offered nothing short of a new life….and the audience is offered a chance to ride shotgun in a way that most plays wouldn’t dare.  A thoroughly original comedy and a delightful romp down the road not taken.
