Experience the sights and sounds of the 1840s at Christmas at Fort Vancouver.
On December 9th, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, walk back in time and visit the residents at the fort during the holiday season at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.
Christmas was a time of great importance and festivities for Hudsons Bay Company employees and their families at Fort Vancouver. It was a break from their usual work schedules, when locals enjoyed singing, dancing and other social activities.
Bring the whole family to gather cedar bows and make a traditional holiday wreath, stop in to enjoy some delicious wasil and play games, craft your own hand made top and enjoy some Christmas caroling.
Costumed re-enactors set the mood and help you to fee like you are truly at a Victorian-era holiday celebration.
You will also have the chance to see the popular blacksmithing and black demonstrations held throughout the day.
Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture some family photos at this memorable old-fashioned holiday scene.
Cost is $5 adult, youth aged 15 and under are free.
