Creative pumpkins and Harry Potter look-alikes will be all around Downtown Camas on First Friday, October 6th, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Festivities will include pumpkin voting, art shows, a fairy door search, a ribbon cutting, kids’ crafts and activities, fall shopping and dining, and a Harry Potter costume contest in celebration of Harry Potter’s 20th Anniversary.
There are prizes to be had if you enter the Annual Pumpkin Pageant or Harry Potter Costume Contest.
How do you enter? For the pageant, participating downtown businesses will each have a carved pumpkin and there will be a People’s Choice Vote for the favorite. Voting enters you to win fall-themed prizes from local merchants.
For the costume contest simply come dressed in your Harry Potter best to Journey Church between 5:00 – 6:45 pm to register.
This is a great place to get your fan-geek on and show off your love of this series and the characters we all have come to know and love.
Prizes will be awarded for both adults and children. Contest will begin at 7:00 pm.
To add to the magic of the evening, there will be Fairy Doors hidden throughout town in downtown businesses…..find them and be entered to win fun prizes.
Be sure to check out the local art galleries and shops that will be open later for First Friday with some special offers.
There will also be refreshments, live music and Harry Potter inspired Kids’ crafts and activities with the Downtown Camas Association.
“This event is such a great celebration of fall,” says Carrie Schulstad, Executive Director of the Downtown Camas Association (DCA). “The pumpkins that our merchants contribute to the “pageant” are truly artful and creative and we all love Harry Potter! We will have so much fun seeing all the costumes and celebrating this iconic series. All are invited to come join in the festivities!”
So bring the whole family out for a night of fun.
