Clark Public Utilities StreamTeam Celebrates 25 Years on Make a Difference Day

hey! sharing is caring :)

Volunteers of all ages are invited to pitch in and plant trees with Clark Public Utilities’ StreamTeam in celebration of the annual national Make a Difference Day, October 28, 2017.

Held in Battle Ground, the event will kick-off with a coordinated tree planting led by seasoned volunteers and AmeriCorps members, followed by a celebration of volunteer service awards including the StreamTeam Volunteer of the Year and Salmon Star awards.

“This year Make a Difference Day is the kick-off to our year-long celebration of StreamTeam’s 25th anniversary,” said Jeff Wittler, Environmental Services and StreamTeam Manager for Clark Public Utilities. “It’s also the start of our 25 Trees for 25 Years Campaign that will award prizes to volunteers who participate in five tree-planting events between now and our annual Earth Day Fest in April.”

Held rain or shine, the event will include on-site training and all tools and trees will be provided by the Clark Public Utilities StreamTeam. Volunteers are encouraged to dress for the weather.

Participants will need to check-in at 8:30 a.m. for 9 a.m. planting, followed by lunch and awards presentation at noon. There is no cost to participate but registration is required. Interested volunteers should contact Ashley King at 360-992-8585 or email [email protected]. Participation is limited. Additional details and Battle Ground location provided upon registration.

For more information, visit the StreamTeam online.

The event is made possible at no cost to participants through the generous support and in-kind donations from supportive, community-oriented businesses such as TwinStar Credit Union.
