The Citizens’ Academy is designed to give participants a general overview of the Sheriff’s Office and the local law enforcement system. Topics will include: Patrol functions, Specialty Units such as K-9 Unit and Drug Task Force, tour of the CCSO Jail and introductions to the Administrative staff. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit the CCSO Firing Range.

The academy will run for six consecutive Wednesday evenings beginning February 20th, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 PM at the Public Safety Complex (West Precinct), 505 NW 179th Street, Ridgefield. A few classes will be held at other locations.

The Academy is provided at no cost to attendees and is limited to 30 participants. All applicants are subject to a basic criminal history check.
