The last Thursday of the month provides a great opportunity for the youth in Clark County, WA to get plugged in and help out the environment right where they live. Dubbed VolunTEENs, this reocurring event is in cooperation with the City of Vancouver and Clark County.
Young people, ages 14 to 19, are invited to help with projects such as keeping the trails pleasant along Burnt Bridge Creek trail, planting trees at local parks or sprucing up our local cemeteries.
This opportunity allows teens to feel connected to their community and gives them ownership in where they live, play and go to school. The volunteer hours can also potentially be counted towards community service hours to complete school credit. Students should check with their school advisors ahead of time and bring the necessary paperwork with them.
There is a consent form needed to participate. You can contact 360-487-8611 for project details, locations, additional volunteer events or to register. Also you can CLICK HERE to learn more.
