Camas First Friday events have been changed to second Friday due to predicted wintry weather. All the same fun activities make this special Camas Second Friday a sweet event you won't want to miss. Chocolate treats, fun themed activities, art shows, a romance movie, prizes, and more will all be a part of this 11th annual “A Chocolate Affair to Remember” in Downtown Camas. Downtown businesses will be serving and selling chocolate delights and other romantic gifts with wine tastings and specials at select locations on Friday, February 10, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The evening’s activities will include: Guess the candy jar amounts in each participating location and be entered to win the candy and other great Valentine’s themed prizes; Art receptions with refreshments; Painting “love rocks”; and Kid’s Valentine’s crafts (Valentine’s crafts for grown-ups too!).
Natalia’s Café (437 NE 4th) will offer chocolate fondue for two, chocolate crepes and will have cookies for kids to frost. The band ‘Simply 8’, a local youth band, will play at Journey and the romantic comedy Ground Hog Day will play at 8pm at the Liberty Theatre. There will be special sales and chocolate throughout downtown shops and you can earn tickets to win for every $10 you spend in downtown!
“This is our 11th year doing this theme—clearly a favorite!” says Carrie Schulstad, Executive Director for the DCA. “In addition to chocolate, we have some really fun and engaging activities and crafts for both young and old. Washougal/Camas Rocks has become quite a thing in our community so it will be fun to have the kids try their hand at painting the rocks and hiding them in downtown for others to find. ”
