Chelatchie Train Ride for Christmas Trees

hey! sharing is caring :)

Over the River and Through the Woods…

It is now officially Christmas Tree Hunting Season in Clark County, and the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad can take you to the hunting grounds!

Hop on board for an exciting ten mile (round trip) ride through beautiful North Clark County aboard the historic Chelatchie Prairie Train! The train departs from Yacolt and travels “over the river and through the woods”, and through a 330 foot tunnel carved out of solid rock, on its way to Moulton Falls. Santa Claus will accompany the train, and refreshments will be served.

Once you reach Moulton Falls Station, you will find a huge assortment of Christmas trees to choose from (cut just the week before from our local growers), as you warm up with hot drinks and cookies. Santa will be there to listen to kids wishes, and present a special gift. Volunteers will then load your Christmas tree into a historic 1921 Heavy Weight Pullman Box Car, and the train will transport you and your tree back to the Yacolt Station, where volunteers will unload your tree from the train for you.

The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad will begin its Annual Christmas Tree Run on Sunday, November 28, and will continue every Saturday and Sunday through December 19, 2010. The train will depart its station (207 Railroad Ave., Yacolt) three times each day the train runs: 9:30 am, 12:00 pm, and 2:30 pm.

All ticket packages include four round trip train rides, and your choice of a 7 ft Christmas tree. Packages are $55 for Douglas Fir, $65 for Grand Fir, and $75 for Noble Fir. Additional passenger tickets (or passengers not wanting a tree) may be purchased for $8/Children, $10/Youth, $14/Seniors, and $15/Adults.
