The 2015 Columbia River Concours d’Elegance is this weekend, Sunday, August 2, presented by Fort Vancouver National Trust. Over 150 restored, classic vehicles will line the lawns along Officers Row, on the Fort Vancouver site in Vancouver WA. Their collection of teddy bears stored at the police department was ruined when water leaked into the storage room. These were not just any teddy bears, they were meant to provide comfort to children in times of crisis.
Officers often encounter children who have been in car accidents, have suffered abuse, or who have witnessed traumatic events. The gift of a stuffed animal provides these children with a level of comfort, a type of emotional first aid, and it helps build a bridge of trust between an officer and a hurting child.

You will think you have stepped back in time as the National Park Service at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will once again host its popular evening of 1860s vintage base ball at 6:00 pm on Saturday, July 25, 2015, on the national park’s historic Parade Ground. This event is a fun, free, and fantastic opportunity to experience “base ball” (then two words) at its infancy, with costumed players and supporters, a brass band concert, and a mountain howitzer firing to start the game.

Get in on the action when 5,000 ducks race down the Washougal River at noon Sunday, July 26, 2015 to raise money for Rotary service projects and scholarships. Held every summer during the Camas Days festival, Ducky Derby is Camas-Washougal Rotary’s largest fundraiser.
