Big Paddle events make for a Big day in the water and on the land in Ridgefield.
The Ridgefield Big Paddle commemorates the designation of the Lewis River to Vancouver Lake Water Trail each year on National Trails Day. But it has become so much more!
Join a flotilla of kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes on a five-mile roundtrip paddle along Lake River to the Columbia and back to the Port of Ridgefield waterfront.
Throughout the day there will be a number of other events associated with other Big Paddle, including:
– Guided Refuge Hike with the Friends of Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge led by the Friends of the Refuge from the Port of Ridgefield through the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. The Refuge will be fee-free during Big Paddle.
– Guided Paddle with Alder Creek Kayak to experience the sights and sounds of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, including historical sites like where Lewis & Clark landed.
– Open Paddle where there will be naturalists and guides on this 2.5-mile paddle along Lake River.
Plus Waterfront Activities, including live music, food, and a beer garden. And, of course, First Saturday and Ridgefield Farmers Market Vendors will be at Overlook Park from 9 am-2 pm
