Do you have experience or an expertise in advocating for biking, walking, transit, active transportation, mobility issues, public speaking, or serving on boards and commisions? If you said yes, the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee in Clark County needs you!
The Committee is currently looking to fill three open positions. Each volunteer position would be a four-year commitment. You must live in Clark County to qualify. Meetings are typically held on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Center for Community Health (1601 E Fourth Plain Blvd.). Other community activities may require up to four to six hours additionally each month.
The committee’s job is to advise the Clark County Council on affairs pertaining to bicycle and pedestrian planning. From planning and funding to implementation of the county’s bicycle and pedestrian ultimate plan, the committee is involved. Committee members review future road construction plans as well as private development projects to guarantee the safety of those who travel by bike or foot.
