Support NAMI with a BBQ… and Elvis?

hey! sharing is caring :)

The recent tragic death of Robin Williams shows that mental illness has no boundaries. It affects the rich, just like the poor. The young, just like the old. The National Alliance on Mental Illness, commonly known as NAMI, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization and is dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness, providing support for families, and giving hope.

NAMI SW WA is inviting the community to a Saturday Night Barbecue Concert on August 16th, 2014 from 5:30pm to 9pm in the courtyard of the Public Service Center (1300 Franklin St, downtown Vancouver).

Dragon Fly Café is catering the delish dinner and the evening entertainment includes world renowned Elvis tribute artist, Mark Stevenz followed by the bluesy Blues Ranch band. Tickets are $20 each and well worth it!

The barbecue is happening in the midst of the NAMI State Conference being held from August 15th to the 17th at the Red Lion at the Quay. The conference is entitled “De-Stigmatizing and De-Criminalizing Mental Illness.” Keynote speakers include Supreme Court Justice Mary Fairhurst, and King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg, with many Clark County presenters on the list to share.

More details on the conference, barbecue, and purchasing tickets can be found at namiswwa.org. Let’s join hands with the amazing people from NAMI to show support for the millions affected my mental health illness, and enjoy a night of fabulous food and marvelous music.
