Battle Ground Veterans Day Ceremony and Flag Presentation

hey! sharing is caring :)

The City of Battle Ground will commemorate Veterans Day with a ceremony held Friday, November 10, 2017, 11:00 am, at the Battle Ground Community Center located at 912 East Main Street in Battle Ground.

Battle Ground Mayor Philip Johnson, U.S. Army Retired, will lead the ceremony and invites the community to gather with him to honor all who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and to remember thirty-one honored veterans, local servicemen who died in service to our country.

The ceremony will include a flag presentation by Boy Scout Troop 441 of the Cascade Pacific Council, a recital of “In Flanders Field”, a formal recognition of veterans, and a reading of the names — remembering the thirty-one local sons who died serving and whose names are engraved on the wall of the Battle Ground Veterans Memorial.

The ceremony will conclude with the playing of Taps by Chief Warrant Officer Al Pefley, Commander of the 204th Army Band.
