Join Battle Ground Parks and Recreation and community park adopters for the annual Park Appreciation Day work party on Saturday, April 17, 2021, from 9:00 AM to noon.
Park Appreciation Day is a way for the community to connect and to give back to their local parks by helping make sure Battle Ground stays green and beautiful. Work parties will take place at 5 local parks, and are hosted by the organizations who have adopted the parks through the city’s Adopt-A-Park program:
- Kiwanis Park – Adopted by iQ Credit Union
- Fairgrounds Park – Adopted by Cub Scout Pack 443
- Florence Robison Park-North – Adopted by the Battle Ground Lions Club
- Central Park – Adopted by the Lewis River Rotary Club
- Cresap Park – Adopted by MOMS of Battle Ground
Volunteers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate and are asked to pre-register online.
Tasks may include picking up litter, raking and weeding flower beds, and cleaning playground equipment. Participants should dress for the weather and the work at hand, and may want to bring gloves. Some tools are provided and volunteers are welcome to bring their own hand tools.
Heath protocols will be followed. The Department of Health requires individuals to wear face coverings outdoors when a six-foot distancing is not maintained.
Park Appreciation Day celebrates Volunteer Appreciation Month and Earth Day, and is a great way for the community to gather together to help support parks and keep Battle Ground beautiful!
