Do you know a local artist? It is time for the Clark County Arts Commission to choose its annual Lifetime Achievement Award. This award gives recognition to local artists who live or work in Clark County and have made a considerable contribution to local, national, or international arts and culture. Both individuals or groups are eligible to be nominated.
Nominees must be a current or previous longtime resident of Clark County, be at least 60 years old, and be active in or recently retired from the arts such as visual arts, dance, filmmaking, acting, music, architecture, literary arts, graphic arts, art education, or art advocacy. A relevant biography, name, address, contact info, and a personal reference with contact information should also be included with all nomination packets. The packet should also discuss “the quality and quantity of distinguished service that has influenced the development of cultural life in Clark County; Arts advocacy that indicates leadership, inspiration, and innovation; Vision of future arts development in Clark County; and Initiative and implementation.” Supporting documents or work such as website, brochures, galleries, studios, books, videos, or films should also be included with nomination packets.
Current commission board members will review the nominations and make a selection.
Nominations must be received at [email protected] by 5:00 PM on October 30th. A decision will be made and all nominees will be notified by November 20th.
