4th of July 2014 – A Whole Lot of A Fun Around Clark County WA

The 4th of July around Clark County, WA is always hopping with activities to fit all ages and interests. With Independence day on a Friday this year, that means a whole weekend of fun and festivities. From Vancouver up to Ridgefield and over to Camas/Washougal, each town in Clark County takes pride in the patriotic spirit of their community. So whether it is just you or you are bringing along the whole family, you are certain to find something to help you get into the mood to celebrate the Independence of this great country.

Fun & Fireworks at Fort Vancouver


Spend the day kicking back, enjoy the Adult Beverage Pavillion or have some family friendly fun on the lush lawns of the Fort Vancouver National Site. Stick around after it gets dark for the amazing fireworks display. The Fort is celebrating over 50 years of providing our community with an exceptional fireworks display. Using state of the art fireworks synchronized to music, the 2014 display will once again be launched from Pearson Field, providing attendees an amazing and exciting fireworks show.

Admission is $5. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or online. Check out the official website for pre-order tickets and to get a full-day’s schedule and map of the event.

Felida’s Annual Children’s Parade

This event if for the whole family to either watch or participate. Line up starts at 10:45 am at the north gate (see schedule below) and this year’s parade will commence at 11:15 am being led by Co-Grand Marshalls Sheriff Cole Merle of Clark County and Chief Chase Getch of Battle Ground Police. To make things more fun all are invited to wear a costume and decorate your bike, trike, or wagon.

After the parade stick around for some fun at Felida Park, including music by the famous Vancouver Community Concert Band, educational games and displays, antique fire engine rides, face painting, and free refreshments. Make certain to bring along some lawn chairs, blankets and sunscreen. This event is put on by Felida Neighborhood Association in partnership with organizations in Salmon Creek and Hazel Dell.

The 2014 Vancouver Rodeo

This year’s Miss Vancouver Rodeo Queen, Amanda Knapp, with her four-legged partner Carter is ready for an action packed week of events. For 44 years, the Vancouver Rodeo has been entertaining the crowds with ropin’, ridin’ and buckin’. The rodeo begins on July 2nd at 7:00 pm and run through July 5th. On Independence Day the gates open at 11:00 am and performances begin at 1:00 pm. This event is held at the Clark County Saddle Club at 10505 NE 117th Ave in Vancouver, WA. So grab your partner, throw on your ten-gallon hat and head on down to the 2014 Vancouver Rodeo for this 4th of July. 2014 Northwest Street Rod Nationals

From July 4th through July 6th, at the Clark County Events Center at the Fairgrounds, spectators will be treated to the sights and sounds of some of the best constructed, most beautiful vintage automobiles ever to gather in one place. The National Street Rod Association (NSRA)  hosts this unique weekend full of fun where vehicles will be driven from all parts of the United States, featuring nearly every make, model and style. This event includes all vehicles from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and through 1984. In addition there will be vendors and a swap meet. Admission is $14 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6 to 12, and kids 5 & under are free. Call 574-875-4032 or click here for more information.

Ridgefield’s 4th of July Celebration

From 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, you can join in the festivities and celebrate the 4th of July in Ridgefield, WA. For 100+ years this small community has celebrated our nation’s independence in a big way. The celebration has grown into today’s festival where its estimated around 5,000 people in attendance.  There is something for everyone to enjoy at this free celebration: outdoor entertainment; contests and games; great foods & beverages; arts & crafts; a fabulous parade and more.

If you running is your thing, you can also participate in the Ridgefield Runners Fun Run. Out and back course is on rolling rural roads starting and finishing in downtown Ridgefield. Race day registration begins at 7:00 am for the Kids Dash, 5K and 10K. You can run, walk or cheer on the participants. Riverside Concert and Fireworks If you make your way to the Port of Camas Washougal Marina Park, you will be treated to a an afternoon of music, food and fun for the whole family. At 4:00 pm the kiddos (ages 3 to 11) can participate in the Children’s Bike Paradewith a Patriotic theme, so decorate and dress accordingly. Then between 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm there will be sack races, games, the Jacob Merlin Band and Big Night Out (a high-energy dance machine). Local vendors will there to provide tasty treats to enjoy. Then at 10:00 pm the magic in the sky will begin, with fireworks being launched from a barge in the Columbia River, courtesy of the City of Washougal. So bring your appetite, dancing shoes and lawn chairs for some summer fun.
