2022 AppleTree Marathon Hits the Streets

hey! sharing is caring :)

Lace up those running shoes, the 5th annual PeaceHealth Appletree Marathon, Half and 5k will be right in your backyard.

The PeaceHealth Appletree Marathon, Half and 5k, is the only remaining marathon in Vancouver. The events are scheduled for Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18 in downtown Vancouver. The course goes through many historical sites, such as Fort Vancouver, Officer’s Row, the Army Barracks, Pearson Airport, and the Historical Old Apple Tree.

Race festivities kick off on Saturday with a sunset 5k run at 6 p.m. where kids 12 and under can run for free, and the main event is Sunday with a 7:00 a.m. marathon start and 8 a.m. for the half marathon.

Two groups are the main beneficiaries of the PeaceHealth Appletree Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K. One is the Police Activities League – a non-profit organization partnering with law enforcement agencies to promote positive relationships between law enforcement officers and youth in the community through educational programs and recreational opportunities. This year, PAL is using this opportunity to honor fallen officer Donald Sahota, who was killed in the line of duty earlier this year. The other is the Clark College Penguin Pantry which supports a healthy college community by reducing hunger on campus and connecting students to essential resources.
