The 55th Annual Hazel Dell Parade of Bands is a wrap. With over 120 entries and zero rain, it made for another great event.

Hazel Dell/Salmon Creek Business Association President Tony Ruestig of TwinStar Credit Union, and this year’s Grand Marshal tandem of Neil Kimsey and Greg Kimsey, led us out Saturday morning at 10:30 sharp.

A total of 26 local High School and Middle School bands performed dozens of popular tunes over the course of the 2.2-mile route. But some of the real Band action had taken place over preceding four weeks as part of the 2019 Hazel Dell Parade Battle of the Bands. In what was the closest voting yet in the four year run of the contest, the 2019 Battle of the Bands winner … is … Frontier Middle School. Congrats you Silverbacks on defending your title! It was a great race, and went down to the wire, with Heritage High School coming in a strong second, Skyview High School grabbing third, Chief Umtuch Middle School taking the 4 spot, and View Ridge Middle School rounding out the Top 5.

Congrats to all 26 schools, the students, and the fans who really represented in this great Battle. We’ve got some cool changes in store for next year!
