Celebrate Fall at Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge.
These are two of the most popular days for the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, and if you’ve ever been to the Birdfest and Bluegrass Festival before you know why (and if you haven’t been before, it’s time you did)! The Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge will be free during the Festival, and the activities are varied and plentiful both days including music, storytelling, kayak tours, crafts, birdwatching, even a chance to get to see areas of the reserve that are normally closed to the public.
There will be free events taking place at Davis Park, View Ridge Middle School, Refuge River ‘S’ Unit, Carty Unit, and Cathlapotle Plankhouse. Bluegrass music will be jamming at Old Liberty Theater, Pickled heron Gallery, and Maintenance Building (3rd and Pioneer). Click here for a more detailed (and printable) schedule of events. You can also pre-register for other special events and tours.
Birdfest and Bluegrass activities will take place rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the weather!
