By the Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge.
The dog days of summer are behind us for 2010, and we’ve all felt the chill (and rain) of the changing of the seasons. Come celebrate the coming of fall with the Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge and the wildlife that make the Refuge their winter home. BirdFest and Bluegrass is an opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of fall migration and bluegrass music throughout Ridgefield. Come meet people from near and far during the 11th annual BirdFest and Bluegrass.
The Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge will be free during the Festival, and the activities are varied and plentiful both days (in fact, this is the first time music is scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday). Come see the beauty and explore the rich cultural history of the Refuge. Music, storytelling, kayak tours, crafts, birdwatching, even a chance to get to see areas of the reserve that are normally closed to the public. Birdfest and Bluegrass activities will take place rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the weather. Suggested Clothing: Appropriate shoes are suggested for any of the tours and walks. Dress in layers for the weather and carry water.
Visit Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge for the full Birdfest and Bluegrass 2010 Activities and Schedule of Events, including maps. Even if it is raining you’ll have plenty to enjoy indoors.
