Who’d Have Thought to Turkey Trot?

hey! sharing is caring :)

Since 2002, families in Clark County have met for an early am run before the holiday’s festivities. As popularity and numbers grew, the families realized that their traditional morning Turkey Trot could become a really meaningful way to serve the hungry in their communities, especially on a day like Thanksgiving. So, the run became organized and now 100% of the race proceeds are directly donated to Clark County Food Bank and the funds gathered from race entries, T-shirt purchases, and Polar Plunge registration provide enough resources for tens of thousands of meals! Get involved in the great cause and family-friendly fun and register for the 2015 Clark County Turkey Trot, 5K and 10K!

Turkey Trot has two race day options: a 5k walk/run and a 10k run. Both races begin at 9:00 am Thanksgiving Morning and run along the same race course. There will usually be around a 5-minute delay between the start of the 10k and the 5k races. The Annual Polar Plunge into Klineline Pond will take place at 10:00 am. All age groups are welcome and encouraged to participate in all events!

Food (bagels, donuts, bananas, etc) and coffee will be provided the morning of the race. Special prizes will also be handed out to racers that come dressed in crazy, fun, or Thanksgiving-themed costumes!

With 1,400 runners and 80 Polar Plunge Swimmers, 2014 Turkey Trot raised enough resources to provide 90,000 meals for the hungry in our community! What a huge impact and an inspiring way to celebrate your Thanksgiving morning.

Turkey Trot registration must be completed by November 24, at 10:00AM. There will be no registration on race day. Unregistered runners are more than welcome to join in the fun, but will not receive a race bib or timing chip.
