Unwanted Medication and Recycle Days | Fall 2015

The time to clean up and put things to bed for the fall is close at hand. The folks here in Clark County, WA make it easy to manage a variety of special wastes through reuse, recycling or safe disposal.This September and October there will be specific collection days for medication, A/C units, batteries, block foam, electronics, computers, freezers, refrigerators, household hazardous waste, scrap metal, tires…as well as paper shredding.

Medication Collection Event on September 26th
If you have medication you no longer need, dispose of it safely, for free and with no questions asked, during four collections locations on Saturday, September 26 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Unwanted medication is managed and safely disposed of by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. In addition, the paper, cardboard, glass and plastic containers will also be recycled.


Take you unwanted medications to:

Battle Ground Police Department (507 S.W. First Street – Battle Ground, WA)

Kaiser Permanente’s Salmon Creek Medical Office (14406 N.E. 20 Avenue – Vancouver, WA)

Kaiser Permanente’s Cascade Park Medical Office (12607 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd. – Vancouver, WA)

PeaceHealth Memorial Health Center (100 E. 33 Street – Vancouver, WA)

Recycle Days Fall 2015
Clark County is again hosting the Recycling Day Events for this Fall 2015. These events this year are coordinated by Clark County Environmental Services. In addition to helping the community be green and responsible with disposal, each location will also be collecting non-perishable items for the local food banks.

September 12th
9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Clark College, Yellow Lot 1, 1900 Fort Vancouver Way

September 19th
9:00 am to 1:00 pm
C-Tran Fisher’s Landing Transit Center, 3510 SE 164th Ave.

October 3rd
9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Battle Ground High School*, 300 W Main St. (Enter NW 3rd Way from N. Parkway)

If you do miss out on one of these drop-off days you can contact theWest Van Materials Recovery Center (360-737-1727), the Central Transfer & Recycling Center (360-256-8482) or the  Washougal Transfer Station (360-835-2500) to find our more information about your options for safe disposal and recycling.
