Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks at Fort Vancouver.
Celebrate the 4th of July all day and into the night at the Independence Day Celebration at Fort Vancouver! Gates open at 8 am for the 48th Fourth of July Event at Fort Vancouver, produced by the non-profit Fort Vancouver National Trust.
Families will find a full slate of activities, featuring multiple entertainment venues, and culminating with a spectacular fireworks show launched from historic Pearson Field. Beginning at noon, children can participate in competitions of traditional children’s games including three-legged races, gunny sack races, hula hoop contests, and the Kids Patriotic Parade at 4 pm. Teens can enjoy live music, crafts, water balloon competitions and a dollar cage.
The Heritage Stage commemorates the sesquicentennial of the start of the Civil War and features heritage fashion shows, black powder demonstrations, musical performances and even an appearance by Abe Lincoln. The nearby Hands-on-History Tent provides opportunities for visitors to learn handicrafts and games from the Civil War era. Visitors can join free, guided walking tours of Officers Row and Vancouver Barracks. Pearson Air Museum will reduce its regular $22 family admission to only $5 for two adults and up to four children. Family admission to the reconstructed Fort Vancouver also is $5. Tickets to the Independence Day Celebration at Fort Vancouver are $7 ($5 in advance) for General Admission and can be purchased online, kids 12 and under are FREE.
