Evergreen Public School Fundraiser Carnival

Come have some fun at the The Evergreen Public Schools Fundraiser Carnival and help the Family and Community Resource Center collect much needed supplies! The Carnival will take place Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Whole Foods Market on Mill Plain.

Green Named ESD 112 Employee of Year

An Evergreen Public Schools employee has been named 2016 Classified School Employee of the Year for the Educational Service District (ESD) 112 region. The award is given by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and recognizes an outstanding classified school employee in each ESD region of the state.

Melanie Green, this year’s recipient, supervises the district’s ten Family Resource Centers (FCRCs). Green is both personally and professionally involved with the district’s FCRCs, having built the first one from the ground up.

Seems as my kids get older, our summers get shorter. I received our school district calendar in the mail and started marking all the big dates on the calendar…and…WOW…the first day of school is almost here!

There’s lots of advice on getting ready for the first day of school, and apply to kindergartners as well as seniors: get plenty of rest, eat healthy, get school supplies, compare teachers/schedules with friends, and be sure to check out the back to school events your school has planned!
