Repair Cafe Offers Free Fixes in Clark County

The first Repair Café of 2018 will be hosted on Thursday, February 8th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the east Vancouver Habitat for Humanity Store. Bring your clothing, small home appliances, electronics, jewelry, or tools/knives that need sharpening, and fixers will try to repair them or help you fix them…for FREE!

Get Outside, Learn, Earn, and Lead

Columbia Springs’ Volunteer Lead program is like a club for people who want to give back and spread a love of the outdoors with their community. Volunteers who attend Volunteer Lead Training are asked to commit to 20 hours of service in one year. Leads who complete the training can help with school field trips, Salmon in the Classroom programs, community events, habitat restoration, and with the fish hatchery operations.

Lasagna Gardening Workshop

The Clark County Master Composter/Recyclers will teach a free lasagna gardening workshop on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from  6 – 8 p.m. at the Clark County Food Bank (6502 NE 47th Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98661).

Discover how to recycle cardboard, newspaper, leaves, grass clippings and other organic material to make a new garden for next spring. Lasagna gardening, an easy no-till method of soil building, is a great way to recycle organic material and a simple way to create a healthy garden.
