Let the fishing excitement begin! The Klineline Kids Fishing derby has been a popular spring activity in the area, and this year will be no exception!
Kids will fish at assigned times throughout the day with a fishing mentor. Prizes will be awarded for the largest and smallest fish caught at each time slot, and random drawings will be announced for goodie bags, tackle boxes, and bicycles.
The park will be full of fun with sponsor booths set up for kids to get their faces painted, do arts and crafts, learn about the environment, test their archery skills, and visit with therapy llamas. There will be free ice cream or hot chocolate, and food vendors as well.
The Klineline Kids Fishing Nonprofit hosts the annual event to help children experience fishing, playing outside, and learning about the natural environment and water safety.
Registration is online this year at www.klineline-kf.org. Cost is $5 per participant. Sign up Special Needs kids and adults (any age) for Friday, April 10th. Sign up kids ages 5 to 14 for Saturday, April 11th. Each participant receives an event t-shirt and a Zebco fishing rod and reel.
Registration closes April 4th, but time slots fill up fast… so don’t wait!
