Come discover why the Portland Business Journal readers rated Camas Meadows Golf Club as the best public golf course in Oregon and Washington. Our championship, public course has a great mix of narrow tree-lined fairways, and winding fairways through grassy and flower-filled meadows. Hazards include 50 sand bunkers, water features, natural meadows, towering trees and many more. Camas Meadows is perfect for the experienced player, yet still offers a great time for the intermediate and beginning golfers. Bring your friends and you’re sure to have an unforgettable experience!
(NWABA) is a 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization. It was formed on May 5, 2007 by a group of visually impaired athletes because there was a lack of sports opportunities in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.
The mission of NWABA is to provide opportunities for blind and visually impaired persons to become engaged in physical activity and sports. We will provide scholarships and host events to build confidence and physical fitness. The confidence gained from sports will inspire athletes to follow their dreams in life and in sports.
NWABA provides opportunities to athletes in Powerlifting, Goalball, Judo, Swimming, Track and Field, Tandem Cycling, Skiing, and Wrestling. Our dream is to make a difference in the lives of every visually impaired individual in the Northwest and give them the opportunity to participate in sports and physical activity. Sports have a life-changing impact on an athlete’s life. When athletes realize that they can excel in sports, it builds the confidence to excel in school or work.
There are hundreds of potential athletes across the Northwest who aren’t involved in sports because of their vision; most of them aren’t able to participate in baseball, football, basketball or even their physical education class. Instead, they sit at home or on the bench and never have the opportunity to participate or be on a “team.” Our goal is to reach as many blind persons as possible and enrich their life through athletics.
Phat Hoops started in 2010 building and selling weighted sport hoops in Clark County. Since then we have grown and now are a part of many organizations to help get everyone hooping in our community. From sponsoring the hoop contest at the Clark County Fair to working with Young Women in Action, we have dedicated ourselves to helping others lose inches and have fun doing it! Here are just some of the benefits:
Because your muscles must be in constant motion to keep the hoop moving, hooping is an easy way to tone and strengthen the muscles in the abdomen, hips and legs. Phat Hoops are larger, weighted hoops with more resistance to strengthen muscles faster.
In order to keep a Phat Hoop moving, you must move in a steady rhythm with good timing. Using a Phat Hoop may seem challenging at first, but the more you do it the easier it becomes as your coordination increases.
One of the best benefits of hooping is that it is just plain fun. Using a hoop is a great way for adults to reconnect with their inner child and play. You can hoop to music or with others to make it even more enjoyable.
