Independence Day Celebration.
With 50 years of experience, you know it’s gonna be good! Celebrate Independence Day all day and into the night at the 50th Independence Day Celebration at Fort Vancouver! Gates open at 8 am, entertainment starts at noon, and the Fireworks show blasts off at 10:05 pm!
There are a variety of events happening in five different Entertainment Zones, so you’re sure to find something fun to enjoy. The Main Stage will feature a variety of live music; the Heritage Activity Area will be offering tours of Officers Row and the Vancouver Barracks as well as Black Powder Demonstrations; and the Family Entertainment Area features music, hands-on activities, traditional kids’ games and the Kids Patriotic Parade at 4 pm (get your kids there early so they can decorate themselves in Red, White and Blue and participate!)
Other activities will include $3 admission to reconstructed Fort Vancouver (free for age 15 and under), food vendors (or bring your own picnic), arts & crafts and commercial vendors, costumed interpreters bring history to life, hands-on-History Tent to see and learn heritage handwork skills, teen activities and Fireworks Prime Viewing Area.
Tickets are on sale now for $5 in advance or $7 at the gate (kids 12 and under are free). “General admission tickets provide for open seating on the lush Fort Vancouver National Site parade ground with an excellent view of the fireworks. Bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy the music and many activities available”. Prime Viewing tickets are $50 (over 21) or $25 (under 21) and “include an on-site parking pass*, a buffet dinner, an exclusive entertainment stage, access to an exclusive adult beverage pavilion and the very best unobstructed views of the fireworks launch site!”
